Leadership Effectiveness

John 13:15-17

This passage is the conversation that took place after Jesus washed His disciples’ feet.  In biblical times, washing someone’s feet was the responsibility of the lowest servant in the house.  It was a humbling job to say the least.  However, Jesus was determined to show his disciples that he did not regard anyone as “less than.”  He did this by example.  If he would have just told them, they would have forgotten it over a period of time.   But once he showed them, that image and lesson would be ingrained in their memory for the rest of their lives.  As you continue on this ministry journey, ask God to show you how to be an example to those he has entrusted to your care, and then allow him to make you that example.  Jesus was not obligated to wash their feet; he was willing to wash their feet.
