The earth is broken into plates that move over the layers of the Earth. Here we see that God is the one who broke the earth into these pieces and created the processes that make them move—affecting all the things we are going to talk about in this class. These processes also include ways that, through plate tectonics, the Earth is also healing itself just as it is being broken down. What an amazing God we serve!
Keep this verse in mind as we work through this course. This verse can also have great spiritual meaning. Just as the Earth has been broken, so we may have broken lives, broken relationships, broken minds, and broken hearts. God is the one that can heal this brokenness. Has there been a time when you felt broken and cried out to God to heal your brokenness? Looking back do you see the processes or things that have happened throughout your lifetime to lead to greater healing of this brokenness? Are there broken things that you need to ask God to heal? Be as transparent as you feel comfortable.
