Our world continues to grow and change. As stewards of the environment, God trusts us to take care of the natural resources He has given us. However, people have often strayed from God’s way for them, and we see this in the overuse and abuse of these resources.
To sustain life on earth, we need to demonstrate care for the earth and the living and nonliving things that dwell within it. Planning for a sustainable future shows love in action; it is a visible sign of caring for those who will come after us, as we leave a world in which future generations will live.
The world of the future will no doubt be different and new compared to our world of today. Taking steps to sustain that world whether small, individual steps or large, societal steps will help bring about God’s future Kingdom on earth.
