Matthew 7:15-20

The values and beliefs held by a leader have a direct impact on the culture of the organization.  Those values taught in the Bible are often quite different from traditional, worldly values.  For example, we are taught to be loving and respectful toward others rather than rely upon power over them; being honest and generous are more important than wealth; forgive rather than seek revenge; and practice humility rather than the pursuit of status.

It is a leader’s responsibility to serve as a role model for others.  It is not only the things we say that matter; it is also the things we do (Matthew 7:15-20).  No person is perfect, but we must live morally and take responsibility for our own actions.  If someone claims to be Christian while failing to follow the lessons of Jesus, that person is a hypocrite.

As leaders, we need to understand the significance of living a moral life, remain humble and honest, be kind and respectful of others and practice what we preach.

In what ways do your beliefs, morals and values influence your own leadership?
