In the book of Matthew, Jesus was teaching the people using parables or illustrative stories. In the passage above, Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven to a pearl of great value and says that a merchant sold all that he had to acquire that single pearl because of its great value.
In John 3:16, Jesus tells us that the price of eternal life in the kingdom of heaven has been paid by Christ and the cost to us is simply our belief and commitment to God.
In this week’s lesson, you will be reading about pricing products and services and how to determine an appropriate price. God has already determined and paid the price for our eternal life and all we have to do is to believe in and accept God’s gift to us.
