Read the article titled Management, which is from a biblical viewpoint.

As you can see from the verses in this article, the Bible has a lot to say about management. This week’s devotional references three management principles or practices:

  • Workload distribution or division of labor,
  • Supervision and affirmation, and
  • Planning.

There are also two criteria given for being a good manager:

  • Understanding your giftedness, and
  • Knowing your limitations, thus surrounding yourself with people smarter than you.

This list is by no means exhaustive. There are myriad examples of both good and bad management principles played out in both old and new testaments, but these are foundational to this week’s workshop.

How would you personally apply the management principles to your personal and professional life? Elaborate on your personal giftedness. Do you believe you have the “gift” of management? Why or why not?
