Matthew 6:20-21

This verse emphasizes that where one’s treasure is, their heart will also be. This teaching encourages a focus on spiritual and eternal values rather than materialistic ones. Eternal truths and values never change and are always true and relevant in all situations. Mankind has its own moral values which are in constant flux. Eternal truths and values do not deviate and remain the same for everyone. This is where our hearts should be and where our true treasure lies.

This passage serves as a reminder to balance one’s focus between temporary possessions and lasting, meaningful experiences. It’s a call to invest in actions that have a positive impact on others and contribute to their personal growth.

After careful consideration, please answer the following questions.

  1. In a materialistic world, how can one find a balance between pursuing material needs and focusing on spiritual growth?
  2. What role does generosity and giving play in the context of storing up treasures in heaven.
