Peter, the disciple who denied Jesus prior to Jesus’ crucifixion, was restored by the resurrected Jesus. Peter would go on to write two epistles, 1-2 Peter. In 2 Peter 1:14, Peter discusses that he is close to his own death. He writes about false prophets who will introduce heresy into the church. In 2 Peter 3:18, Peter challenges the church to be on guard against false teachers and to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
Local churches have the opportunity to be intentional about their discipleship plan for all ages. In light of this, please reflect on and answer the following devotional questions:
- If you had the opportunity to create a discipleship plan for the adults of your local church, what would it be?
- What discipleship spaces are available in your local church for people to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
- What is the relationship between the seminary and the local church?
