Genesis 1:31-2:1

Imagine what it must have been like when God created the heavens and the earth and all the living and nonliving things in it.  What would it have been like to be there as our God flung the stars across the heavens?  How awesome to see the majesty of the sun and planets at their creation!  Think of what it would be like to see flowers and plants springing up from barren earth, or to hear for the first time the wind blowing through the trees.

Each day gives us another opportunity to appreciate God’s creation, if we just take the time to do so.  Often, our busy-ness and technological toys take our attention away from the beauty and majesty of nature.  We spend our days in offices or homes lighted artificially, and maybe take little time to look out the windows at the world of animals, plants, and natural light. Our thoughts are diverted from natural to artificial “things.”

Give yourself a moment today to breathe deeply of the air outdoors, to look up at a beautiful sunset, or to touch a leaf or stone.  Take a moment to appreciate the world our Creator has placed at our fingertips and relive those moments of creation.
