Exodus 4

The Gospel communicator can study, pray, research, and pray some more, but sooner or later, he/she must stand before a group of people and share what they have found in Scripture. The voice must be lifted, the message shared with passion and clarity and the results left to God.

The brief passage above sheds a little light on Moses’ own struggle as a communicator of God’s word to Pharaoh. But we all have our Pharaohs, those venues that cause us to freeze up, and second guess what we are doing.

Consider the following.

  • What particular audience or venue do you find problematic when it comes to communicating the Gospel? Is it peers? Family members? The unbelieving community?
  • How have you reacted when the Lord has opened a door for you, one which you may have found to be particularly daunting?
  • How have you or the Lord compensated for a particular weakness, real or perceived?
  • In your reluctance, what has the Lord taught you, and how did He teach it?
