In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve are presented with the very first ethical dilemma! They have to make a moral decision: will they obey God or will they believe the lie of the serpent and do as they please?
As you study the passage, consider these questions. What are the steps in the narrative leading up to the first sin? What is it that leads Adam and Eve to disobey God’s command not to eat of the fruit of the tree? How could this story be like our attempts to make ethical decisions today?
Ask God to give you the wisdom and the courage to make ethical decisions out of obedience to what He has clearly commanded.
