- Prepare to discuss what industries you found in your research. A goal of this discussion is to get a sense of what markets you might serve and how to prepare for ups and downs in the economy. Ensure the following points are addressed:
- Is there a specific geographic location where the industry is most active and jobs are plentiful?
- What is the current unemployment rate? Find this information and compare on the national level, local level, and even within the industries you researched.
- Where in the economic cycle is the industry? (growing, peaking, declining, recovering)
- Do you have experience in either of these industries? From your own background and research, what can you share about the industries and their economic cycles?
