The hermeneutical process is not complete until Scripture is applied. Read 2 Timothy 3:10-17 and meditate on Paul’s words to Timothy, particularly how Scripture is able “to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
This week in Advanced Hermeneutics, we will finish our class by learning the importance of applying Scripture in a modern context. Again, the hermeneutical process is not complete until the interpreter applies the text in a modern context.
Consider the following questions this week:
- What does the “voice of God” sound like when Scripture is employed for teaching, reproving, correcting, and training in righteousness?
- How does one apply the Gospel in a modern context and to one’s personal situation?
