This week you are writing your first research paper of the course. It requires careful pre-writing, ethical engagement with sources, good organization, and attention to grammatical detail. Think about the Gospel of Luke. Paul tells us that Luke was a doctor, so certainly he had the best of education in his day. We can well imagine this learned man carefully documenting his work and deciding the best structure for it: 

“It seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus.” Luke 1:3 

The Bible was not a haphazard endeavor, quickly dashed off without purpose or planning. Every page shows such meticulous integrity. The argument is clear: this book can be believed
