John 4: 4-30

The story of the Samaritan woman at the well with Jesus, when examined from a marketing perspective, is a good example of the consumer buying process at work.

How, you say? Well the Samaritan woman recognized her need (her need of the life-giving water) and then sought information on how to meet that by asking Christ where she could get that water. The woman recognized that following Jesus was better than living the life that she was living (evaluation of an alternate purchase decision).  The woman then made her decision to ask for the living water (purchase decision).  Finally, the woman went into town and told the people that she might have met Christ (post purchase evaluation). While this story is an example of the consumer buying process, it is much more than that.  It is an example of how the decision to accept Christ as our Savior is a life-changing event and the best decision any of us will ever make.

Discuss how making a decision for Christ can change a person’s life forever.
