ROMANS 12:1-2; Matthew 5:13-16
In these verses, Paul emphasizes the idea of presenting one’s whole self to God as an act of worship and service. He encourages believers not to conform to the ways of the world, but to undergo a transformation through the renewal of their minds. Matthew writes about Christians being “salt of the earth” and “light of the world”. This implies that believers are called to have a positive impact on others.
Our minds must be renewed in God’s word if we are to have a positive impact on the world around us. A renewed mind can understand God’s will. As we offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God, we are changed into His likeness. It is then that we can truly have a godly impact on the lives of others. This involves letting one’s actions, attitudes, and choices shine brightly in a way that influences those around them to see the goodness and glory of God.
After careful consideration, please answer the following questions.
- Practically speaking, how can I renew my mind in today’s world?
- How can I navigate relationships with non-believers or individuals who have different values, while still maintaining my own faith and positive influence?
