Genesis 1:26

John 3:16

In the book of Genesis, we find the story of the creation of the universe and the creation of human beings. We also see the introduction of sin and the fall of humanity with Adam and Eve. The Old Testament is full of the history of our relationship with God and all the many times we have failed to maintain our relationship with Him.

In the New Testament we see the coming of Christ to bring us back into relationship with God.  In the book of John, we see God’s plan for the salvation of human beings.

In God’s omniscience, He knew at creation that we humans, in our independence, would rebel and break the relationship between God and humanity. Because of this, He included in His strategic plan the way to repair the broken relationship, and that bridge was the sacrifice of Christ Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins bringing us back into relationship with God.

God always had a strategic plan for us, His creation.  The Scriptures outline this plan, along with the opportunity that we have as part of God’s creation to become part of God’s strategic plan and do our part to facilitate that plan.
