Read Romans 12:4-7
God has uniquely gifted each of us with talents, skills, and abilities. While our gifts differ from one another, believers in Christ are all members of one body. Because of this we should be united in purpose in harnessing our God-given gifts while collaborating with others.
As members of the body of Christ, we should all work together and benefit from one another’s gifts. Our giftings are not meant for individual glory, but rather to be used to serve and work alongside others. In doing so we find purpose and unity in the community of others. We should seek opportunities to collaborate with others, combining our unique gifts with theirs. We must remember that there is strength in unity, and we achieve more together than we ever could alone. God’s design is for His children to work together harmoniously. A heart attuned to God’s love will overflow with empathy and compassion for others.
Our giftings should be used to meet the needs of those around us. When we collaborate with others, we fulfill the purpose that God has set before us. Whether it’s a comforting word, a helping hand, or a skillful contribution, or actions should always reflect God’s love.
After careful consideration, please answer the following questions.
- What is the definition of collaboration, in view of our giftings from God?
- How can you successfully collaborate with others in the school setting? Think of all the different areas in a school that might benefit from collaboration and explain those potential situations.
