Leviticus 19:35 – 36, & Proverbs 10:15-16
Money plays a central role in both the rich and the poor; the righteous and the unrighteous. Money itself is neutral. From this passage, a person’s relationship to money would seem to be defined in the depths of their heart. It is the feelings and uses of money that may be judged as evil or holy by God. A pure heart will exhibit itself through our money management.
Our uses of money and feelings towards money give believers opportunity to demonstrate God’s character. We can choose to use our money for holy purposes. Staying away from the vices that would take our money for sinful purposes is one way to honor God. We can also use money to enhance our lives and the lives of the poor in a way that can exhibit the character of Christ.
God, give us a healthy view of money. May we honor You with all of our resources. Amen.
