Exodus 4; 31:18; 24:12; 32:16; 34:1
The verses above record God’s interaction with His servant Moses. The verses indicate God spoke to Moses and gave him the tablets of stone on which the law of God is written for God’s people. This in essence teaches us God uses human instrumentality to achieve His purposes.
The focus of our study this week will be on the authorship of the book of Exodus. A close reflection of the message of the book of Exodus will show, among other things, that God uses Moses as His mouthpiece. What Moses will say, God will have said; and what God intends to say, He will say through Moses.
Answer the following questions:
- What lessons do you learn from the signs God gave to Moses about the power and character of God (Exodus 4)?
- When God called Moses, Moses was hesitant. What does Moses’ hesitancy teach you about ministry?
- What did God tell Moses that was encouraging to him?
