This week we will look at how to analyze data reported on financial information. Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes, that having wisdom and being able to analyze and interpret things is “wonderful.” God has given us the unique gift of logic. We as humans can logically analyze information and no other creature on the earth can do so. Granted, some of us are more gifted in this area than others, but we all have the gift of taking in information and making sense of it.
As you begin learning how to analyze the specific information found in the financial statements of an organization, think about the second part of that verse. “Wisdom lights up a person’s face, softening its harshness.” Maybe Solomon is talking about those “aha” moments we have when we finally grasp a difficult concept or correctly interpret a complex piece of information. Our faces light up and our harshness is softened.
