We will begin our week with a biblical principle related to honesty in all things.
Honesty is much more than not telling a lie. It is about living a life of integrity and trustworthiness. It includes intellectual honesty, as we conscientiously and accurately acknowledge the sources of our research essays. Perhaps if we applied academic honesty to Proverbs 19:1 it might read something like this: Better is a person who got a C grade but did not steal another person’s words and use them as his or her own, than one who plagiarizes. He or she may get an A but ultimately is a fool, destined to be found out sooner or later whether in an academic environment or another one.
How is intellectual honesty a part of our Christian testimony and really a spiritual issue before anything else?
