In Luke 5, we read about Jesus and how he chose his disciples. Although it could be argued that Jesus had a different purpose and criteria for choosing each disciple, there are some similarities between how he chose his disciples and how we choose who joins our team in the workplace.
This week we will be discussing recruiting and hiring employees. It would be nice if we had supernatural insight like Jesus did when we hire people. But maybe we can take solace in the fact that even 1 of the 12 He chose did not work out (Judas).
Reflect on how Jesus chose His disciples and answer these questions:
- What do you think He considered when choosing who would be a part of this group of twelve?
- How are His criteria for choosing disciples similar to and different from the way we typically recruit and hire employees in the workplace?
- What principles and applications to human resources leadership do you see?
