Deuteronomy 6:17-18

In this passage from the Old Testament, Moses is speaking to the Israelites before they leave the wilderness and enter the Promised Land.  Moses instructed the people to “do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight…”

In the world of business as well as in our everyday life, we are often tempted to “bend” the rules to get something accomplished or to make things easier for ourselves or others.  The easy or the convenient way of doing things, if it is not the “right” way, is never the way that we should proceed.

Marketing is one area of business where it is sometimes difficult to determine the right way to get things done.  As Christians, it is our responsibility to God and to our organizations to stop and examine and think through our actions before we move forward.  Is it the way that is right and good in the Lord’s sight?  If not, we need to go back and figure out another path to follow.   This path is not always pleasant, but we have to keep in mind that we serve God first and then others.
