This week, we consider the aspects of teaching that show the importance of the teacher’s expectations as well as how knowledge should affect daily living. In this passage, Paul is encouraging Timothy in his ministry. He says to “Command and teach these things.” This statement is about the knowledge of Christ and His work, but Paul immediately moves on to encourage Timothy in his lifestyle.
These two – knowledge and lifestyle – are intimately connected. How do these verses show this to be true? Share a personal experience that reflects the truth and necessity that our knowledge must develop our thinking, so we might live better lives for Christ.
