Habakkuk 1

Habakkuk prays to God bringing up the evil he sees around him. God replies that He’s raising up the Babylonians and describing their might. Habakkuk asks if God will ignore their sin and evil and if He will allow Israel to be wiped out.

Principles: God uses resources in the world to accomplish His purposes.

Habakkuk 2

This chapter contains a well known scripture about vision: Write the vision and make it plain so he that run may read it. The chapter highlights those who have become rich through treachery. It talks about the payback of the treachery.

Principles: making the vision clear is important. Wealth through treachery and deceit will be punished.

Habakkuk 3

This chapter is a song sung by Habakkuk about the exploits of God. It talks about how God’s judgment of those persecuting His chosen people causes those watching to tremble. God’s strength and power are on display.

Principles: God’s greatness is beyond measure.
