Revelation 20:11-15

The picture that John paints here in Revelation 20 is one of final judgment. In fact, this is a terrible judgment of all of humanity who are not saved. This also comes with a terrible consequence, which is that all whose names are not written in the Book of Life will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. The reality is that all people will face a type of judgment in the end times.

There is a lot of discussion about the actual ordering of end time events and specific activities that will or will not happen. The reality is that the one thing that everyone should be concerned about is the final judgment of all people, and especially for those who don’t know Christ. The importance of declaring final judgment is an important aspect of our Eschatological Theology.

After careful consideration, please answer the following questions.

  • Why do Christians get caught up in the wrong aspects of Eschatology and not teach on coming judgment?’
  • How can churches make sure to include robust teaching on judgment while maintaining the proper tone of teaching?
