Revelation 20:1-6

John writes to us that a future and final judgment is coming for Satan. Ultimate defeat and ultimate victory rest in the person and work of Christ, alone. Christians should be encouraged to look forward to the certainty of Christ’s victory and the defeat of Satan. As Christians go through their daily lives, they can take great comfort knowing that regardless of what they may face that day, or in any persecution to come, they have the hope of ultimate victory.

Christians today must learn to rely on the promises of Christ each day. They might be tempted to despair over a changing culture, hostility towards Christianity, and hard days of ministry work in front of them. However, the duty of Christian leaders must be to encourage those around them with the truth of the Gospel and the message of Christ’s sure and final victory over all opponents. The Christian must not view the end times through the lens of speculation; rather it must be viewed through the sure and true word of Jesus Christ.

As you think about end times, please answer the following questions.

  • How can we encourage those around us about the end times?
  • How has this course helped you think about your approach to the end times, and about the topics that were discussed in class?
