Read Proverbs 27:1

Consider this story.

A man admired a peer in a Fortune 50 company and asked the source of his leadership style.  The man indicated that he had read many management books but had not encountered this style before and inquired if his peer had a book he would recommend.  The peer replied, “The book of Proverbs in the Bible.” The man asked, “Where is that?”   Highly educated, this man had never heard of Proverbs or the wisdom contained within.  As Christians, this should be a reminder that we have the ultimate guide to wisdom and relationships!

The story above is true.  As a young Christian working in a top U.S. company, this man recognized themes of interpersonal relationships that were woven through the book of Proverbs and the Bible as a whole, and he worked to apply them in his interactions with others.  Character traits mentioned include valiance, trustworthiness, faithfulness, honesty, diligence, shrewdness, generosity, and fairness.  Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, it seems appropriate that Christians should begin with the Bible in developing their skillset for leadership and working with others
