This week you will be introduced to variability. Operations management would be easy if variability didn’t derail our plans. Without variability we could always reach our goal of consistent performance, but variability always creeps in and provides us with something new to manage. Variability in the Christian life also presents challenges. It’s not always easy to apply God’s laws on a daily basis, but in Christian life as in operations management, it is always the goal. Recognizing God’s laws over our will is what it takes to streamline the operation of Christianity. The distractions of worldly variability can make us forget that God’s will applies here, not just at church, around other Christians, or when it is easy. It always applies towards building a streamlined relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
In this scripture, God speaks to Moses so that he can guide the tribe of Levi to be His priests and worship leaders. Its content was meant to instruct the new nation of Israel in proper worship and right living, so that they might reflect the character of their divine King. Life will always have variability, but God has given us His rules to support our streamline operations.
- As an operations manager, how can you translate Christian philosophy into a streamline process?
- Does variability represent opportunity in Christian life and operations management? If so how?
