This week we will learn about how the impact of a negative event is so much stronger than that of a positive event. We will also consider emotions, moods, and attitudes in the workplace and how they can affect job satisfaction.
As evident in Paul’s declaration in this week’s Scripture, his work included being shipwrecked, beaten, arrested, jailed, bitten by a snake, and much more. It is safe to say that he experienced more work-related stress than most of us ever will; however, he learned to find contentment or satisfaction no matter the circumstance. Too often we allow external circumstances to dictate our level of satisfaction, not only with our job, but with our life. We need to learn to be more like Paul and find contentment where we are and not expect contentment to find us.
