Genesis 1:1-31

Genesis 1 provides a look at “the beginning.” When it comes to physical and life sciences, this passage describes God’s role as the Creator of our physical universe, as well as the creation of life itself.  God, the Creator, was present before “the beginning” because He is eternal. Genesis provides an overview of how God spoke the universe into existence in six days, including how He created the stars and the earth. Again, it also reminds us that He is the Source and Giver of Life itself. It reminds us, as well, that God created human beings in His image.

One must understand God’s role in creation to properly understand physical and life sciences. Everything that was created, was created by Him. God was the Great Designer and the Great Architect of our universe. The design and order of creation is so evident all around us, from information-encoded DNA, to vast galaxies spiraling in space.  It provides the foundation for scientific study—allowing predictability and probability through the stability of scientific laws which God put in place.

One must understand God’s role in creation to properly understand physical and life sciences. This understanding leads us into divine truth.
