Joseph certainly experienced difficulties, but he continued to serve God. From his low point of having been sold into slavery and later wrongly imprisoned to the high point of being second in command of Egypt, God was always working in his life. In Genesis 41, we see Joseph being called on to interpret a dream for Pharaoh.
Joseph successfully interprets the dream not because he is wise on his own (v.16), but because God provided the answer. Joseph depended on God and God worked through him to save the nation of Egypt from a famine. However, God is not done with Joseph, because Joseph is now placed in a position of leadership, responsible for storing and distributing food. The fate of the nation rests on him.
This week we will look at how technology can aid an organization in reaching its mission; however, it is important to remember that technology is just a tool. As Christians, we must trust in God to enable us to reach our potential. Joseph did not have computer systems to manage his inventory as we would today, but God asks us to do our best in service to Him no matter what tools we have available. God is the focus and the tools are ancillary, but God can and does work through it all.
