Read I Timothy 3:1-7

Context: an “overseer” is a leader in the church

Paul wrote the above verses.  He was certainly a leader.  He selected and trained leaders.  

In the above passage, Paul gives the qualifications to serve as a leader in the church.  

The first characteristic listed in this passage is to be “above reproach.”   

  • Give your own definition of “above reproach” after doing some research.   Then tell us whether you think it is a good characteristic for an organizational leader.   
  • Give a positive or negative example of a leader who was or was not “above reproach.”
