Symphony of Praise; How can I Keep Singing?; This is My Father’s World
At the start of a concert, the musicians sit quietly with their instruments tuned. The choir is prepared with their voices warmed up and ready to perform. They are all waiting for the conductor to enter the stage. When the conductor steps up to the podium and taps the music stand, everyone comes to attention. We all have our individual parts to play or sing, but it is the conductor who brings all the parts, the sounds, the rhythms, etc., together. The musicians are always attentive to the director. Should he suddenly stop, a well-trained group stops IMMEDIATELY. Those who aren’t following the conductor will find themselves playing or singing an unwanted solo, and they will often get a stern look from the director. God is the world’s GREAT CONDUCTOR and His Word is our spiritual score. We need Him to direct our lives and keep us on track.
Every great team relies on a leader or conductor to establish direction. Many people today let other gods rule them- power, money, fame, pleasure, all these things lead people away from the True God. But God commanded, “You shall have no other gods before Me”. Have you relied upon God to be your leader and conductor? Do you let Him direct the way you live your life? We must study His word to learn about righteousness, love, grace, and His way of leading, guiding and directing us. This is how we learn to trust His direction.
God’s Word is the written music score for our lives. Rely on Him to be the Great Conductor and He will keep us on track to the rhythm of His Word.
After careful consideration, please answer the following questions.
- Why should we consider God as our conductor in life?
- Compare studying your music, as a musician, to studying the Bible as a Christian.
