We begin our second week with a biblical principle related to academic ethics. II Timothy 2:15 (ESV) tells us to “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
It can seem as if there are so many rules and complexities around the issue of plagiarism and crediting others for various contributions to your writing. However, the bottom line is this: we want to look God in the face and feel no shame in our actions. That doesn’t mean we won’t make mistakes or misunderstand an expectation. What it does mean is that our relationship with God will always be clear when it comes to our integrity, which is the most important aspect of this entire week.
