Sometimes we are given the privilege of knowing a lot about the personal history of many of the prophets. Their family, their children’s names, where they are from, their occupation, etc. But not so with Obadiah. This verse is it. But this verse tells us all we need to know about Obadiah. One, his name means “servant of the Lord”. And two, he is faithful to fulfill the job God gave to him—to speak God’s word to the nation of Edom.
